During the Industrial Revolution, new techniques and practices
for the creation of many goods were being reimagined.
The spread of electricity and the transition to other modes of illumination called for
a more purpose-full candle: one that burned long, and spoke “the poetic language of flowers and nature.”
The inventive and entrepreneurial Carriere Brothers won the gold medal at the 1889 Universal Exposition
and became the official wax supplier to the Basilica of Sacré-Coeur in Paris.
Wicks weaved of pure cotton are hand secured and the wax hand poured.
Each fragrance is created and produced in the region of Grasse,
and each candle hand packaged in their factory in Normandy.
“Inspired by the indomitable spirit of scientific discovery, Carrière Frères now explores the world of scents.”
